Black Templars Sword Brother – part 2
In this series of articles, I will explain my approach to painting a Black Templar Sword Brother from the old metal box, and in the second part I will explain the step-by-step beginning of the painting of the miniature.
We begin by painting the basecoat of the miniature’s cloak, the author has chosen a white coffee color (Walnut from Scale 75), regardless of the line of paints used, it is always recommended to dilute them using some kind of medium (water, Lahmian Medium from Citadel, Thinner Medium from Vallejo etc.), and they should be applied in light coats with mandatory drying between each subsequent layer.
I then took an off-white paint from Scale 75, called Mojave White, and used it to cover the entire cape. The reasoning between this way of painting lies in the fact that lighter colors such as red, yellow, orange or white have a smaller pigment particle size, regardless of the line from which they come, and thus provide less coverage, which requires more paint layers and thus more effort.
I then started painting the inner part of the cape, which I began with the Deep Red color from Scale 75.
