Diorama USSR 1986 – part 3
In this series of articles, I will write about making a USSR diorama in 1986. I will show how I made the "terrain" and the model myself, how I painted them and what effects I used. In addition, vegetation and resin will be discussed.
After painting the terrain, it was the turn of vegetation. I used the products of the following companies: Martin Welberg Scenic Studios, Diorama Presepe and Green Stuff World.
I glued most of the vegetation using PVA glue, while I glued individual twigs and small bushes with superglue. I let everything dry overnight.
Since the room was very cold overnight, I noticed that the PVA glue did not dry in all places in a transparent color but remained white. To cover it up, I mixed in a little brown wash. In fact a liquid with slightly more pigment than a normal wash, and yet less than a normal color. Then I carefully applied the paint with a thin brush to the desired places.
When everything was finally dry, I was really pleased with the life-like result…
